# Altostrat Studio

Altostrat Studio is an AI-native IDE for network operations. It runs as a desktop application on macOS and Windows and is built for the engineers who keep real networks reachable — primarily Managed Service Providers and mid-market IT / NetOps teams.

## What it is

Studio combines four things that have historically lived in four separate tools:

1. A first-class multi-protocol terminal (SSH, Telnet, Serial, RDP), with real-time collaborative sessions, live cursor presence, video calls, and searchable session recordings.
2. A network brain: living discovery via LLDP, CDP, and ARP; packet capture and flow collection; on-demand SNMP; and a Graph RAG knowledge base that indexes your configs, sessions, runbooks, and change history.
3. An AI copilot powered by Amazon Bedrock, with eight specialized sub-agents, three-tier caching, and extended thinking. The copilot reads your topology, drafts changes, navigates web UIs autonomously, and grounds every answer in your own data. Default model: Claude Opus 4.6.
4. A visual workflow engine (DAG editor with reflection) that turns chat into shareable, reviewable team runbooks.

Under the surface, Studio is offline-first with cloud sync (AWS AppSync, DynamoDB, KMS per-org customer-managed keys, FIPS 140-2, tag-gated by organization). Credentials live in the OS keychain, injected just-in-time, and never pass through chat or LLM prompts.

## Who it's for

- **Senior network engineers at MSPs** who are tired of swivel-chairing between SecureCRT, Confluence, ServiceNow, vendor portals, and a password manager to close one ticket.
- **Mid-market NetOps leaders** who need audit trails, rollback, per-change approval, RBAC, and a way to keep knowledge in the company when a senior engineer resigns.

## What makes it different

- **Terminal and network brain in the same window.** Termius is a terminal with no network intelligence. NetBrain and IP Fabric have network intelligence but no terminal. Studio closes the gap.
- **Grounded AI, not hallucinated AI.** Every copilot answer cites the device, config line, ticket, or log entry it drew from. The copilot is read-only by default; writes require explicit approval per session.
- **Multi-vendor by design.** Deep context across Cisco IOS / NX-OS / IOS-XR, Junos, FortiOS, PAN-OS, RouterOS, ArubaOS, and more. Not locked to one vendor's AI assistant.
- **Your data stays yours.** Per-organization customer-managed KMS keys. Configs never train a shared model. Works offline.
- **Built to be installed, not procured.** Download on a laptop, connect a device, use it for a shift. Team rollout is a PLG motion, not a six-month implementation project.

## What's shipped today (April 2026)

Multi-protocol terminal, AI copilot on Bedrock with eight named sub-agents, JIT credentials in OS keychain, network diagramming (MaxGraph/draw.io, Cisco and AWS icons), DAG-based workflow automation, real-time terminal co-work with cursor presence, Amazon Chime video with live transcription, SIP shortlinks, offline-capable knowledge base with ONNX embeddings and Graph RAG, network discovery via LLDP/CDP/ARP, packet capture and flow collection, on-demand SNMP, session recording, offline-first sync with FIPS-grade encryption, command palette, encrypted credential vault, autonomous browser-based device management.

## What's next

Continuous SNMP polling and alerting. Auto-diagram-from-discovery surfaced in the copilot. Stripe-backed org billing. A Linux build. Deeper integration with source-of-truth systems like NetBox. These are commitments, not hypotheticals.

## Lineage

Altostrat Studio is built by Altostrat, founded by Hannes Kruger. It is the successor to Altostrat SDX, a Gartner-recognized MikroTik SD-WAN SaaS platform now repositioned as the data-engine foundation underneath Studio.
